The Morning File / Memo from: Zanesville monkey. Re: Humans
18.05.12
Well, here's another fine mess the humans have gotten us all into.
Dozens of wild animals that should never have been penned up finally let go, only to be shot to death. The homo sapien who cared for us, if "cared" can be used loosely, dead as well. A media circus -- I hate that word, circus, but there's no other way to describe it -- that has my slain friends displayed on every front page and TV station from Dayton to Timbuktu.
An animated Disney movie this ain't (though I imagine it'll be one before long, making big bucks in 3-D, with some voice-over work by the likes of George Clooney and Adam Sandler that'll make me gag).
Lions and tigers and bears are dead -- oh my -- and it never had to come to this. But what can one expect in a state where people run around cutting each other's beards off to intimidate them? (Speaking of which, how come the authorities found it necessary to put out electronic highway signs warning "Caution Exotic Animals" but not "Caution Crazed Amish"?)
