I am a vegetarian.
My teacher says I have to eat whatever I make in my food and nutrition class.
We are starting off with chocolate chip cookies and they're baked on a pan with animal shortening on it. We are also making smoothies with

Opelika road closed; animal group hosts cookie sale

Saugahatchee Lake Road bridge closed to traffic

The city of Opelika has permanently closed the bridge on Saugahatchee Lake Road, near Veterans Parkway, to vehicular traffic. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will still be permitted on the bridge.

Motorists can take either Water Street, the new road built by the Opelika Utilities board, or Gabby Drive, another new street located between the City Lake Road and Water Street, to access their homes.

Additionally, Saugahatchee Lake will be closed from Thursday through Aug. 30 due to ongoing construction by Opelika Utilities.

Lee County Humane Society hosting cookie sale

The Lee County Humane Society will be partnering with Great American Cookies to host “Share the Slice Night” today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Great American Cookies store located inside Colonial University Village Mall in Auburn. Study Break | A Knack For Nutrition

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it) my eats escaped the camera yesterday. I suppose I just took the day off from accountability. But I am here letting you know that I had some of the best, richest, most indulgent food in recent memory. Think chocolate covered animal crackers with sprinkles and gummi worms. Apart from the stomach ache (which was bound to happen), I really don’t feel bad about what I ate.

Sure, I neglected my hunger signals. Yes, I had way to much sugar. But it is fine, because upon waking this morning I wanted nothing more than to begin my usual routine again. So that is what I did.

(My favorite breakfast: 1 slice cinnamon raisin bread, 1/2 tbsp almond butter, a sliced banana, and cinnamon).

I love having control, but it was really nice to let go for a minute yesterday. And so long as I am able to jump right back on the bandwagon, I think I will be just fine.
